Welcome to our ministry - we are a group of both Parishioners AND Alden residents who like to knit and crochet. We meet once a month, the second Tuesday, from 9:00 - 11:00 am in the Art room of St. John’s School (Note: The Art room is down one flight of stairs). All our work is done with care, prayer and blessings for those in need.
Members knit or crochet lap robes, hats, scarves, mittens, special red, white and blue lap robes for veterans, and baby blankets for the Pregnancy Center in Buffalo.
We share first with our church family, then local groups such as the Alden Marilla Food Pantry, Neat Repeats, nursing homes or other charitable organizations.
Our ministry also makes white baby blankets which are part of the Baptism Gift Basket given at St. John's.
We are not funded by the parish but rely on yarn donations and monetary gifts from generous parishioners, family and friends.
If you cannot meet with the group - but would like to participate by making items at home - we welcome you!
