Greetings St. John’s 200 Club Members,

It is with some sadness and joy that we, the 200 Club Collectors Board, announce that we voted to fold our 28-year-old 200 Club.

The St. John’s 200 Club has been extremely successful through the years as a supporter of our Pro-Life Youth Fund and Respect Life Ministry. Along with your continued prayers and support, our Respect Life Ministry hopes to carry on as a strong pro-life organization as we join forces with our new family - The Beloved Disciples of Christ the Lord.

For over 30 years the annual March for Life in DC was an inspirational pilgrimage in which many parishioners, mostly youth, were able to participate.  We experienced our Catholic Pro-life teachings and doctrines alongside thousands of truth-seeking Christians! Now the battle is in the States. Let us pray hard for New York!

St. John’s parish pro-life activities have been many: Baby showers, Respect Life classes, a Youth for Life teen group, pro-life contests, Life Chain, Cemetery of Innocents, 40 Days for Life- praying at abortion clinics, Baptism gift bags, Pretzel Project, pro-life scholarships, Rosary rallies and more! Our hope is to continue most of these endeavors while maintaining the youth fund for support while searching for more soldiers for life!

Some things have changed in our parish and Diocese allowing us to move forward on a different path. With the dissolving of the 200 Club, our Board agreed to transfer $10,000.00 to our St. John’s School Angel Fund.

Also, an amazing project is currently underway as we plan to install 14 Stations of the Cross in our St. John’s Cemetery. The Stations will have attached pro-life meditations, lasered plaques on sturdy stands, built to last 100 years plus. This amazing enterprise has been built by our local Alden HS students, through their Alden Bulldog Manufacturing business! The installation and dedication of the Stations is planned sometime this late Spring- early Summer.

The St. John’s 200 Club will discontinue this year- no new tickets sold. We are looking forward to our final 200 Club dinner/dance on Saturday, May 3, 2025, Ripa’s Restaurant, Lancaster. As usual the non-transferable ticket includes dinner and all the drawings. Ticket holders may bring a guest, guest dinner $40.00 payable to team Collector at reservation time. All money prizes will be awarded as in the past.

We wish to express our grateful thanks to all who have supported the 200 Club for so many years. We especially thank our Collectors and all who support our pro-life activities and Respect Life Ministry with prayers and actions!

Yours in Him for Life,

Allen & Pamela Turton with Collectors Team
